Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer worked together and shared the spotlight in the 1986 movie "Top Gun," in which they played rivals Maverick and Iceman, respectively. Even though it's unclear whether they are close friends outside of work, they have in the past positively spoken to one another.

In a 2017 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Kilmer stated that he had "great respect" for Cruise and referred to him as "a true professional." In response, Cruise tweeted a photo of the two on the set of "Top Gun" with the didascalia "Friends for more than 30 years." A tremendous young man and a wonderful actor ".

Although Kilmer has recently experienced health issues that have impaired his ability to interact and communicate with others, it is unclear how much contact he has had with Cruise or other former coworkers.
