He's only 23 years old, so it's time to start paying attention.
It's hard not to notice how good Cale Makar has looked lately. After being traded to the Calgary Flames last season, Makar put up career highs in goals (7), assists (16) and points (23). And while he didn't make the playoffs with the Flames, he did lead them in scoring during the regular season.
He's Got Great Skating Ability.
His skating ability is what makes him so effective at both ends of the ice. He's got excellent speed and acceleration, allowing him to cover ground quickly and break away from opponents. He also has very strong puck handling skills, making him an asset when defending against rushes.
He Can Play Any Position.
He's played center, wing, and even as a defenseman. He's also shown off his offensive skill set with some nice goals.

He's not flashy, but he does what he needs to do well. He's a smart player who knows how to play the game. He's got good vision and passing skills. He's a solid skater and moves the puck quickly. He's a good stick handler and makes smart plays.
He Plays Physical.
He's also a big hitter. He's willing to throw his body around and take hits. He's not afraid to go into the corners and fight for pucks. He's strong along the boards and uses his size effectively.
