In the lead-up to the release of the Vol 2. mixtape in July, Denzel made waves on social media with “HOT ONE” featuring A$AP Fergand TiaCorine, as well as with his three-beat medley group performance featuring Ferg, Tia, Key Nyata, and PlayThatBoiZay with On The Radar. A few weeks later, Denzel debuted his second single, “BLACK FLAG FREESTYLE,” featuring That Mexican OT with a From The Block live performance. Denzel and PlayThatBoiZay also premiered their “HOODLUMZ” verses live in London on BBC Radio 1’s Rap Show. Since the mixtape's release, Curry has experienced a staggering uptick in listeners and followers, aided by him hitting the road on the Grey Day arena tour with $uicideboy$.
Given the project's sound and the homage it pays to the great musical heritages of the South -- from Memphis to Houston and Curry's own South Florida -- its features include the region's greats, both old and new, as well as others whose style is indebted to the South's musical legacy.
