FIU operations are unaffected by Tropical Storm Nicole.

We continue to observe tropical storm Nicole, which has arrived and is expected to bring rain and flooding to coastal areas in areas of Florida by November 9 or November 10.

While the storm's predicted path has shifted slightly north of Miami-Dade County, our area is still under tropical storm watch. Multiple checks and warnings have been issued for Broward and Palm Beach counties.

The University's operations continue as usual. We ask professors and administrators to be understanding of students, faculty, and staff who may be impacted by the storm or school closures in Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties.

Any changes to the University's operations will be communicated to the university community as soon as possible. Continue to keep an eye on your emails.

Please also keep an eye on local media and the National Hurricane Center for updates in the coming days.
