Speaking on the EP, Kam-Bu says “I wanted to really explore my heritage and how that informed sound system culture on British soil. I’ve been having fun with nuances of different dance music created here and across the water. The process was extremely enjoyable, and so is performing the tape, I love seeing people dance and skank at my shows rather than only moshing, so you’ll be hearing a lot more of this sound! ‘ Built 2 Last ‘ the saga continues!”

Throughout it all, he released banger after banger, drawing inspiration from UKG, house, dub garage and the 90’s Madchester scene.
About Kam-Bu:
Since the release of his debut single Are You On?, Kam-Bu has emerged as a profoundly uncompromising artist force within British rap. He’s sold out shows across the capital, played tentpole festivals such as Reading & Leeds, All Points East, Glastonbury, Pitchfork Paris & Forwards (not to mention performing one of the buzziest shows at this year’s Great Escape) and been profiled by the likes of The Face, Mixmag, DIY, Dazed, Loud & Quiet, Crack, i-D, Arena Homme+, the Evening Standard, Pitchfork, Clash, Trench among many, many others. Additionally, he also appeared in ACW x Converse, Martine Rose & Bianca Saunders campaigns, collaborated with Converse on a panel alongside Tyler, the Creator and has worked on community-based initiatives with the likes of Idris Elba, Gucci, Flock Together, Green Gym, Louboutin & the London Wildlife Trust.
In late 2020, Kam announced himself as a pioneering talent with the release of one of the most accomplished and tightly structured debut projects of late, his critically acclaimed debut EP Black on Black. Featuring production from the likes of Leon Vynehall, Pullen, Hylnu, Tom Henry & Knucks amongst others, the project effortlessly flipped between left-field drill & party anthems, all while maintaining a deeply introspective tone that reflected on the social, political and community issues affecting the diaspora across Britain. With a back catalogue of experimental, forward-thinking tracks to his name already, the stage is set for Kam to dominate the musical landscape in 2022.
