Recorded between Toronto and Bahrain, Good People offers a glimpse into the duo’s past and is reminiscent of their roots in music - the futuristic, nostalgic tracks that audiences know and love are prominent on this album, and are expanded upon as they have grown, both within themselves and in their career. They now have a newfound sense of intentionality and assuredness that is showcased through their fresh perspective on love and relationships. The album reflects their new, mature outlook on romance - while there’s passion in the cynical side of love, there’s also beauty in having intimacy that’s peaceful. “There’s an uplifting message on the album about focusing on love, and sending that out into the world,” says Al Maskati, “Being patient and knowing that something better is waiting for you, always. It’s about having that faith despite not knowing anything.”
For Majid Jordan, Good People pays homage to the importance of allowing human connection to grow organically. It assures listeners that love should be comforting and relaxing - Majid and Jordan are in a confident place in their lives, and the album displays their desire for a relationship that matches this stability: deeper connections, authenticity and timeless endearment. In many ways, Good Peoplespotlights their evolution as artists and is as much about the love between them and their fanbase as it is about finding a romantic partnership that is fulfilling.
Majid Jordan will be back on the road for their Good People Live Tour, where they’ll be taking the stage in cities across North America, the UK and the EU.
At the start of their music journey, singer Majid Al-Maskati and producer Jordan Ullman united their talents to form a partnership that is now globally known as Majid Jordan. The R&B duo blessed dance aficionados everywhere following the release of their debut EP Afterhours, catching the attention of Noah “40” Shebib and signing to OVO Sound. From working with Drake to co-producing and writing the 2013 6x-platinum smash hit “Hold On We’re Going Home,” and a number of successful hits, Majid Jordan have continuously evolved their sound over the years to create a subgenre that is uniquely their own. Majid Jordan also appeared as fictional popstars, the Halal Brothers, in season 3 of Hulu’s critically acclaimed series, Ramy. Gearing up for their highly-anticipated return, the boys are back and ready to explode onto the music scene. It’s been a decade since their first work Afterhours was produced, and this new music aims to pay homage to the beginning of their musical journey, when they originally went by the name “Good People.'
