Returning to Peace’s familiar subject of relationships, ‘Groundhog Day’ sees the 24-year-old taking accountability for his flaws. “I always mess it up darling / Always mess it up good,” he laments over the rumble of grungy guitars that would fit right into any 90s era classic.
“The new track is kinda like the climax of the peace of mind journey, the video shows me in my element when it comes to me performing live and the connection with my fans” explains Peace.
The new single follows ‘Veronica’, which was Clara Amfo’s ‘Hottest Record In The World’ on BBC Radio 1 and Tune of the Week on Vick and Jordan’s drivetime show. ‘Groundhog Day’ will feature on the new EP alongside ‘Veronica’ and previous single ‘Country Life’, which won ‘Best Music Video’ at The British Short Film Awards 2022 in December last year.
These songs will be inaugurated on Peace’s upcoming headline tour in support of his ‘Peace of Mind’ EP. Set to take place in March, the tour will include a headline show at London’s XOYO on Tuesday 21st March and will also see Peace supporting Nova Twins on their European tour throughout March and April. Known for his raucous live performances, these shows aren’t to be missed. Full details can be found below with tickets on sale now.
‘Peace Of Mind’ is guaranteed to take the musician’s star to new heights. His boldest record so far, it presents a no-holds-barred dive into Peace’s personality, thoughts and the things that really matter to him. It is the clearest picture of who he is and what makes him tick that his craft has provided yet. “I feel like I’ve always been scared to really say what I want or what I really feel,” he explains. “Now I’m gonna say what I want, and everybody can take it how they want to take it.”
His most ambitious project to date, ‘Peace of Mind’ reflects Peace’s goal of making music that stands the test of time. Leaning heavily on iconic references such as Bloc Party, Arctic Monkeys and LCD Soundsystem, the 5-track EP marks the beginning of the next stage of Master Peace’s journey to becoming a household name and emulating his heroes’ impact. The EP is far from Peace’s peak, but a brilliant and uncompromising progression towards his debut album, which will no doubt cement his position at the forefront of the indie renaissance. “With the music I’m making at the moment,” he says confidently, “I should definitely be leading this scene.” Revitalised and liberated, the throne is Master Peace’s for the taking.
