The partnership will see the two companies work together to develop the world's fastest car.
The partnership between McLaren and Mercedes-Benz will see them collaborate on developing the next generation of Formula One cars. This includes the design, engineering and manufacture of the chassis, engine, transmission and aerodynamics of the vehicle.
McLaren says it will use its expertise in aerodynamics and lightweight construction to create an ultra-high performance vehicle with a top speed of over 200mph.
The car will also feature carbon fibre bodywork and a hybrid powertrain system, combining electric motors with a V8 petrol engine. It will be the first McLaren to feature a mid-mounted 6.2 litre V12 engine, producing more than 1,000bhp.
It will also feature a carbon fibre monocoque chassis and hybrid powertrain.
The partnership between McLaren and Mercedes-Benz was announced at the Geneva Motor Show last week. The two companies will work together to develop the world's fastest production car, which will go into limited production later this year.
The first cars will go into production next year.
The new McLaren F-1 will be produced in a limited run of just 50 units. It will cost $2 million each and will be sold through McLaren dealerships worldwide.
