Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, the team's standout player, helped them to a solid start (then known as Lew Alcindor). The Bucks won the NBA title in 1971 after just three seasons, and Abdul-Jabbar was awarded Finals MVP. The winning team included had excellent players like Oscar Robertson and Bob Dandridge.
The Bucks continued to be a strong team after their championship season, but they wouldn't triumph again until 2021. Sidney Moncrief, Marques Johnson, and Ray Allen were among the team's notable players in the years in between championships. The Bucks experienced success in the early 2000s with players like Sam Cassell, Ray Allen, and Glenn Robinson and made the playoffs five times in six seasons. They were coached by George Karl.
The Bucks began their reconstruction in 2013 after being sold to new owners. Despite making the playoffs for the 2018–19 season, the team was eliminated in the first round. The Bucks, headed by star player Giannis Antetokounmpo, had a fantastic season the following year, finishing with the best record in the NBA. During the postseason, the team advanced to the NBA Finals, where they triumphed over the Phoenix Suns to win the franchise's second championship. Giannis Antetokounmpo was selected as the Finals MVP due to his great efforts throughout the series.
The Bucks are still a potent NBA team today because to Giannis Antetokounmpo and other outstanding players like Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday.
