Combining two all-time favorite comfort foods — macaroni and cheese and the classic Philly cheesesteak sandwich — this delectable dish will please family, friends and party guests alike.

Gather Ingredients.

To make this dish, you'll need the following ingredients: one package of elbow macaroni, three tablespoons of butter, two cups of shredded sharp cheddar cheese, one cup of heavy cream, half a yellow onion diced, half a green bell pepper diced, one pound of thinly sliced rib-eye steak (or your preferred steak/beef option), salt and pepper to taste.

Preheat Oven.

Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a 9x13" backing dish with butter or cooking spray then set aside. Cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions, drain and set aside once cooked. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add in the diced onion and bell pepper and cook until softened (about 5 minutes). Add in steak slices and season with salt & pepper. Cook until steak is slightly browned (approx. 10 minutes).

Cook Noodles.

Cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions in a large pot of boiling salted water. Drain the noodles once cooked and add to a bowl. Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and stir it together with the noodles so they don’t stick together. Set aside for now.

Cut and Prepare Meat and Veggies.

Start by cutting the steak or chicken into thin strips. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steak to the oil and cook until just browned, 2 to 3 minutes per side. Remove the steak from skillet and set aside in a bowl for now. Then add the onion and bell pepper to the same skillet and sauté until beginning to soften, about 5 minutes. Reduce heat if necessary to keep from burning them. Add garlic and mix until fragrant.

Combine All Ingredients in a Casserole Dish and Bake in the Oven.

Once your steak, veggies, and macaroni are ready, place the macaroni into a 9x13 inch casserole dish and pour the sauce on top. Make sure it is evenly distributed. Place steak pieces in an even layer over the pasta and sauce. Add the cooked vegetables to one side of the dish. Cover with foil and bake in preheated oven for 25 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit. When time is up, remove foil carefully, stir everything together gently, and sprinkle with remaining cheese. Bake uncovered for an additional 10 minutes until cheese has melted completely. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!
