Hackney-born R&B/Soul singer, songwriter, and guitarist Mychelle has just released her latest EP, IT'S not YOU, it's me, which is now available to stream and watch on all digital platforms through Jorja Smith's indie label FAMM. This EP features five tracks that provide an insight into Mychelle’s sense of self, as she chronicles the battles she’s internally waged with her self-worth as a result of emotionally taxing friendships and romantic encounters. The EP represents a leap in Mychelle’s artistry, remaining loyal to her R&B and neo-soul roots while incorporating her indie, folk and acoustic pop influences.

Mychelle's new EP follows the release of her previously critically acclaimed singles 'Tightrope' and 'Hurts.' To celebrate the release of IT'S not YOU, it's me, Mychelle has unveiled a video for 'Magical,' a celestial and feel-good track that encourages listeners to affirm themselves and acknowledge that we’re all works in progress.

The accompanying visual for 'Magical' was directed by Korrie Powell and inspired by the work of Spike Jonze. It places its focus on the relationship between two sisters dealing with body image issues, colorism and self-esteem. The video explores the difficulty and turbulence that often comes with becoming comfortable in one’s skin in a world where it’s more than easy to feel out of place.

IT'S not YOU, it's me comes nearly a year after Mychelle’s sophomore EP ‘Someone Who Knows,’ which received rave reviews and praise from various press outlets such as NME, CRACK Magazine, Hypebeast, DUMMY, MTV UK, TRENCH, Rated R&B, and more.

Mychelle has made considerable strides in the music industry, building her pedigree as an in-demand live and touring act. Last year, she sold out a solo headline show at The Lexington and completed a number of well-received supporting gigs with Michael Kiwanuka, Jorja Smith, and George Ezra while dazzling the festival circuit at Boardmasters, Into The Great Wild, and Montreux Jazz Festival.
