Get ready to enjoy a classic Mexican flavor with our delicious Tacos Dorados recipe! This tasty and easy-to-follow dish is sure to bring an authentic Mexican flair to your home.

Here's what you'll need:

In order to make our Tacos Dorados, you'll need 4 tablespoons of vegetable oil, 10 6-inch corn tortillas, 1 cup of cooked and shredded chicken, 1/2 teaspoon of chili powder, 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder, and 1/4 teaspoon of cumin. To finish it off we recommend garnishing with cilantro and Mexican crema for a dish that tastes even better than it looks!

Before getting started, preheat your oven to 375°F. In a medium skillet, add the vegetable oil and heat until it's hot but not smoking. Carefully add one corn tortilla at a time to the skillet, cooking for about 10 seconds on each side. Once cooked, lay the heated tortillas on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil. Combine the chicken, chili powder, garlic powder and cumin in a bowl and mix until everything is combined evenly. Place 2 tablespoons of the mixture onto each cooked tortilla and roll tightly like an enchilada. Secure each taco with a toothpick before transferring to a greased baking sheet. Bake in the oven for 10 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy. Garnish with cilantro leaves and serve immediately with Mexican crema.

1 1⁄2 cups of Corn Tortillas

The first step in creating our tacos dorados is heating the vegetable oil in a large skillet. Once the oil is hot enough, fill 1⁄2 of a cup with roughly 10 6-inch corn tortillas each and fry them until they are lightly golden and crispy. Then remove the tortillas from the skillet and place them on paper towels to let drain any excess oil. Your tacos dorados plates should now be ready for filling.

Once you have fried your tortillas, it is time to start building the tacos dorados. Start by filling each shell with a spoonful of your preferred prepared filling such as beef or chicken, refried beans, potatoes or cheese. Then take 2 shells and place them together with the filling in between before folding the top one over the bottom shell until they are sealed and create a taco pocket shape. After this process repeat for all remaining corn tortillas to complete all tacos dorados. With their crisp golden exterior and delectable filling inside, these flavorful tacos will be sure to become the life of any gathering!

1/4 cup of Water

Once you’ve laid out all your tacos in their plates, it’s time to fill them with a delicious mix of vegetables and ingredients. To begin, add 1/4 cup of water to the vegetable mixture to make sure that everything blends together nicely. Stir in the ground beef and onion mixture until it's evenly mixed in. Finally, stir in any extra ingredients such as cilantro, cheese or jalapeños if desired.

Using a slotted spoon, scoop your taco filling into the tacos. Depending on how big you want your tacos, add 1 tablespoon to 1/4 cup of the mixture per taco. Fold each taco over and press gently to seal in the filling. Once all the tacos are filled, heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly oil it. When the pan is hot, use a pair of tongs to

place each folded taco onto the heated skillet or griddle. Press down lightly with the back of the tongs to help flatten them out into their traditional shape as they cook. Be sure to periodically rotate them while they cook until they’re nicely browned and crispy on both sides. Serve with salsa, guacamole, sour cream and lime wedges for an easy & delicious dinner!

2 tablespoons of Vegetable Oil

After you’ve completed your taco filling, it’s time to start frying them. Heat up two tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and make sure that it is hot before you proceed. Once properly heated, carefully place each freshly filled taco into the skillet and allow each side to cook for around two minutes until they are evenly golden brown. Be sure to use your spatula to carefully turn the tacos as needed. Once you are done, transfer your completed tacos from the skillet onto a plate lined with paper towels to soak up any excess grease that has accumulated. If needed, add additional vegetable oil to the skillet before frying up your next batch. Serve your Tacos Dorados hot and enjoy as a delicious snack or make meal out of it by adding some sides such as refried beans or salsa!

1⁄2 cup of Refried Beans

Start your tacos dorados by blending together 1⁄2 cup of refried beans with 1⁄2 cup of water in a medium-sized bowl. It's recommended that you use store-bought refried beans for this recipe, but you can make your own if you have the time and ingredients on hand. Once your mixture is ready, spread it onto each flour tortilla, making sure to cover the entire surface. Fill each taco with your desired fillings before folding the shells into half moons.

Heat your large skillet over medium-high heat, then brush it with a thin layer of oil. Place the tacos dorados in the pan and cook until they are golden and crisp on each side, flipping them once during the cooking process. If you're not serving your tacos right away, you can keep them warm in a preheated oven set to 200°F (95°C). Serve these crispy tacos with your favorite toppings or sauces and enjoy!
