Amsterdam is scheduled to be released in the United States on October 7, 2022, by 20th Century Studios.
Set in the 1930s, three friends – a doctor, a nurse, and an attorney – find themselves entangled in a murder. The opening of the trailer for "Amsterdam " immediately sets the tone for the film with a shocking scene featuring Chris Rock. In the scene, Rock looks down at a dead man in a box and is visibly shocked. "You've got a dead white man in a box?" he says, dumbfounded. "Not even a casket? Doesn't even have a top on it? Who do you think's going to get in trouble here?" The scene then flashes to Christian Bale and John David Washington as they wheel the box out of the room.
