Warpaint returns, releasing their first record in six years with Radiate Like This. Emily Kokal’s dreamy vocals glide over guitars and atmospheric synths cdrenched in reverb.
Radiate Like This communicates a profound sense of longing, both in Kokal’s lyrics and in the sonic palette of the album. At the same time, the album has a playfulness to it, with songs like “Send Nudes” and “Stevie,” two truly modern love songs. Despite their long hiatus, Warpaint’s clever songwriting and considered production return to form on Radiate.
