The Rising Sun of Courrèges SS26

It’s 21 degrees, the sun is rising. For his Spring-Summer 2026 collection, Nicolas Di Felice imagines a solar ascension, between irresistible attraction and dazzling clarity.

Colorful silhouettes soar to a soundtrack of progressively rising temperature, transforming ice cold colors into incandescent transparencies. As temperatures rise, the archive inspired cuts become more fluid and the Courrèges codes soften. Accessories start melting, the clothing forming a protective second skin. Sunglasses, sent as the show invitation, offer a glimpse of the constant tension at play. This new scenography, designed with Remy Brière and Matiere Noire, transforms the traditional squared space, into a circle. Accompanied by original music composed by Nicolas Di Felice and Erwan Sene, the show rises in intensity until its viewers are blinded by the light.

It’s 22 degrees. The line is accented by draped caps, taken from the archives, with vaporous visors that blend into the bodysuits, creating ensembles in aqua, pool blue, and night blue. Mini skirts feature a heritage check pattern that has been resized to resemble solar panels. Thin textile covered belts adorn a low waist typical of the 1960s.

It’s 24 degrees. Swimsuits incorporated into slender dresses reveal deep cutouts. Mules, flat boots, and kitten heels complete a comfortable look, promoting the functional elegance advocated by Courrèges.

It’s 26 degrees. Under saturating light, inseparable skirt-shorts swirl around. The safari jacket with adjustable sleeves, and other archetypes of the utilitarian wardrobe in natural materials, are given amplified volumes, while sportswear pieces are casually rolled at the seams.

It’s 30 degrees. Driven by a stylistic obsession, Nicolas Di Felice transforms the textile covered mini belts into total looks, translating into tops, skirts, and dresses made from plant-based vinyl in light sunset or dune colors. Light orange silhouettes follow, bleached to excess. Jersey, silk, and sequin dresses with a radiant finish are made from sunshade frames. Both supple and lightweight, they blend into an anti-UV artifact, even protecting the face from blinding sunlight. The new seasonal bags are made from supple leather. Featuring adjustable straps for a loose fit, they complete the season’s versatile wardrobe. With this collection, Nicolas Di Felice draws inspiration from the trajectory of a solar cycle to its zenith to revisit the graphic sensuality of Courrèges’ codes.
