A New, Modern Expression Of Elegance Draws On House Signatures And Couture Techniques.
For Spring 2024, Givenchy Creative Director Matthew M. Williams continues to assert a new masculine elegance, reviving the allure of Givenchy Gentleman and fusing its elegance, luxury and formality with of-the-moment essentials like cashmere sweatsuits. Key tailored pieces include a white blazer that channels Givenchy heritage and an evening jacket with a brooch-like placed thistle motif.
An overcoat in bonded suiting fabric blends tailoring and technical outerwear. A sleek, stylish duffle in double-face cashmere raises the bar on everyday elegance. Alternatives to classic suiting include a khaki boiler suit or a workwear jacket in gray marl, denim, or suiting fabric. These pair with a matching punk-inspired bondage pant featuring zipped sections and straps that can be removed. An evening jacket of razor-like precision pairs with punk-inflected trousers to create fresh tension. Relaxed elegance gains sophistication as soft sweatshirt material takes on a workwear aesthetic.
The dialogue between Parisian heritage and Californian cool continues in varsity-inspired archetypes elevated with shearling that contrasts with the more typical washed cotton, leather and nylon. Lush materials and oversized volumes blend comfort and simplicity. New this season are fully sustainable puffer jackets made of eco-nylon and dyed without water.
In accessories, men’s Voyou bags join the season’s lineup in both classic and crossbody versions, while new iterations of the Essential U Backpack include an oversized leather backpack and two small sling backpacks in nylon or leather.
The G-Zip and Pandora feature the Givenchy logo in all-over, a modern and playful take on the House emblem. Footwear nods to Givenchy’s new elegance with a leather work boot in seasonal colors or a chunky-soled leather derby.
The color palette concentrates on neutral, universally flattering shades of beige, off-white, charcoal and subtle nuances of black, highlighted with warm tones of red and pink.
The Givenchy pre-collection will be available online and in-store in early November.
