GUCCI INTRODUCES ITS NEW STORE CONCEPT WITH THE OPENING OF ITS AVENUE MONTAIGNE FLAGSHIP

Gucci unveils its new store concept, the first expression of the House’s evolving retail vision, through a flagship at 56 Avenue Montaigne in Paris. Open to the public from October 30, the store spans 1,480 square meters across four floors, bringing together Gucci’s collections within an architectural environment that reimagines the relationship between space, product and experience.

Previewed through The Store Show presented in Milan on September 25, the concept crystallizes ideas explored through the runway set into a permanent retail expression. It establishes a framework that will be progressively introduced in Gucci’s store network, rooted in the House’s Italian heritage, contemporary culture and approach to client experience.

The concept borrows its spatial logic from the Italian Renaissance palazzo, while its aesthetic is shaped by Milan, a city central to Gucci’s history, present and future. The rationalist architecture of the 1930s, in the spirit of Piero Portaluppi, brings proportion, rigor and monumentality, while touches of Milanese interiors from the 1950s to the 1970s add warmth, craftsmanship and a distinctly modern character.

At Avenue Montaigne, this translates into a progression of interconnected environments, where movement unfolds gradually, shifting from monumental openness to intimacy and from display to exploration. Distinct rooms establish their own atmosphere while remaining part of a continuous architectural narrative. The journey culminates in Gucci Appartamento, a private space on the second floor designed for a more exclusive experience. Throughout, the store is conceived as a place of discovery and connection, where every client can find a sense of belonging.

The store’s material palette is rooted in Italian architectural culture, and its identity lies in the encounter between materials. Ceppo di Gré, deeply connected to Milan’s built landscape, meets travertine in different tones, Emperador and Breccia marble, Victoria Regia green stone and bronzite. Walnut, zebrano, teak and lacquered surfaces bring warmth, while terrazzo and pigmented concrete add a contemporary edge. Each room is defined by its own combination, creating a dialogue between precision and patina that balances intimacy and character.

Collections are embedded within the architecture, not simply arranged within it. Inspired by principles of concealment and revelation, products emerge through a sequence of encounters that encourage exploration over immediate visibility. Furniture, objects, artworks and merchandise coexist within a shared environment, where discovery becomes an integral part of the retail journey and every room reveals its own essence.

With Avenue Montaigne, Gucci opens the first chapter of its retail evolution. Bringing together architecture, product storytelling and client experience, the concept defines a new approach to retail for the House, one that unfolds through atmosphere, materiality, discovery and belonging, creating a distinctly Gucci feeling.
