Stone Island unveils the next chapter in its Community as a form of research project with its new Autumn Winter '024-'025 collection, continuing a narrative that celebrates its community and culture at large, which began in January 2024.
Universal and eclectic, the Stone Island community is once again represented by a diverse ensemble coming from the worlds of music, sport, art and the thriving spaces in between.
The first portraits to be released include rock'n'roll legend Liam Gallagher, DJ and producer Peggy Gou – who continues to challenge the status quo in becoming the first female community member to be featured in a Stone Island campaign – alongside actor and curator Russell Tovey, and musician and skateboarder Sage Elsesser.
This will then be followed by a portrait of Stone Island President, Carlo Rivetti, paying homage to tradition by joining the sitting in the seasonal interpretation of the iconic President’s Knit, first presented in the AW '998-'999 collection.
This series of portraits is then capped off by the presence of creator Philippe Starck, artist Alexandre Diop, parkour athlete Davide Garzetti, photographer Liam MacRae, music producer Axl Beats, and graphic designer Yoshirotten.
As before, David Sims captures their respective personalities through the intimacy of his portraiture set against Stone Island’s iconic white background, with creative direction by Ferdinando Verderi and styling by Max Pearmain.
Conceived as a form of research, a project dedicated to defining exactly what makes the Stone Island community so distinct, the narrative is further brought to life by ten unique questions set for each of the twelve-strong cohort. Delivered by curator and cultural critic Hans Ulrich Obrist, artistic director of London’s Serpentine Gallery, these questions and their responses are a statement to the underlying narrative of Stone Island’s unique community.
