A portrait of one of the most popular and prolific film composers, ENNIO celebrates the life and legacy of Ennio Morricone, featuring very rare archival footage and interviews with renowned filmmakers and musicians including Hans Zimmer, John Williams, Quentin Tarantino and Clint Eastwood.

"I never thought that music would be my destiny, when I did the first film, it was 1961. I said: In 1970 I will quit cinema. At first I thought that music applied to cinema was humiliating, but writing, I wanted my revenge. I wanted to conquer this guilt"

Ennio Morricone produced probably one of his finest scores for Tornatore’s Cinema Paradiso in 1989.  They have collaborated on eight more films in total including Malèna for which Morricone won an Oscar and a Golden Globe, The Legend of 1900, The Star Maker and Baaria
