Oppenheimer: First look at Cillian Murphy in Christopher Nolan’s new film

One of the greatest living director Christopher Nolan new movie is a biopic of American atomic bomb scientist J. Robert Oppenheimer, who is often described as the father of the atomic bomb.

Adapted from the Pulitzer Prize-winning book American Prometheus: The Triumph And Tragedy Of J. Robert Oppenheimer by Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin, the director tell the story of one of the founding fathers of atomic weaponry that during the Second World War and the deadly power was put to use – he famously said. “Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds”. Oppenheimer stars Cillian Murphy - Peaky Blinders, Emily Blunt - Edge of Tomorrow, Robert Downey Jr. Zodiac , Matt Damon Good Will Hunting, Rami Malek Bohemian Rhapsody, Florence Pugh Midsommar, Josh Hartnett Pearl Harbor, Benny Safdie Good Time, Dane DeHaan Chronicle, Jack Quaid The Boys plus more.

Universal Pictures has released the first look at Peaky Blinders and Batman Begins star Cillian Murphy .

Speaking to The Guardian about the project, Murphy recently said: “I’ll always turn up for Chris, whatever the size of the part. Chris will call me up and I’m there.” "It’s the first time he’s cast me in a lead, which I’m still a bit in shock about, but I’m thrilled. It’s a huge part and a lot of work,” the actor said. “But in my estimation, you’re working with one of the greatest living directors, so you’re in safe hands."

After supporting roles in the likes of 2005's Batman Begins and the sequels The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises, as well as in Inception and Dunkirk, but in Oppenheimer will be the first time he takes the lead.
